Chile Guide
Entry requirements
Most foreign visitors to Chile do not need a visa. The exception are citizens of a small number of countries including Cuba, Russia, all Middle Eastern countries, except Israel, and all African countries, except for South Africa. But check with your local Chilean consulate. If you do need one, you'll have to submit an application to your consulate, along with your passport and a full written itinerary. Remember that you will need a multiple entry visa if you plan to leave Chilean territory and re-enter it.
Visitors of all nationalities are issued with a tourist entry card (Tarjeta de Turismo) on arrival in Chile, which is valid for ninety days, and can be extended once for an additional ninety days.
If you want to extend your tourist card, you've got two choices. You can either pay US$100 at the Intendencia of Santiago or any provincial capital, or you can simply leave the country and re-enter, getting a brand-new ninety-day Tarjeta de Turismo for free.
