Arrival and information
The modern international airport, Malvinas Argentinas, is 4km southwest of town; there's no public transport to the city, and a taxi to the centre costs $5. Buses – to Estancia Harberton, Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego and other nearby attractions, as well as long-distance services to Río Grande and beyond – arrive and depart from the car park on seafront Avenida Maipú, at the corner with Juan Fadul.
