At the modern Casa de la Cultura you can see local art on display but, more importantly, you can hear the city's pride and joy, the Orquesta Sinfónica, in concert throughout much of the year. Considered to be up to international standards, the orchestra consistently plays to a packed house; tickets cost only a couple of pesos. Occasionally major artists, such as Martha Argerich, play here too, but expect to pay considerably more for the privilege of hearing them. Tango and folklore complete the programme.
