The Nagytétényi Castle Museum (Nagytétényi Kastélymúzeum) is strictly for lovers of antique furniture. Though rendered as "castle" in English, "kastély" generally signifies a manor house or chateau without fortifications, which Hungarian nobles began building after the Turks had been expelled – in this case by converting an older, ruined castle into a Baroque residence. Nowadays, its 28 rooms display furniture from the Gothic to the Biedermeier epochs, owned by the Applied Arts Museum; the most outstanding exhibit is a walnut-veneered refectory from Trencsen Monastery. In July and August, historical dances and concerts are held in the grounds (1/207-0005 for details). To get here, take bus #3 from Móricz Zsigmond körtér (30–45min) or the Tropicarium (15min) to the Petőfi utca stop; cross the road and follow Hugonnay utca down past the children's playground to the kastély.
