On the north side of the Basilica, a pea-green majolica facade of entwined fishes with bronze peacock motifs beneath its portal harbours the Museum of Trade and Tourism (Kereskedelmi és Vendéglátóipari Múzeum). Besides temporary exhibitions, there are several rooms devoted to fashions and ephemera from the belle époque and interwar eras, and a spacious upper floor where musical, theatrical and culinary events are held – ask in the lobby or check the website for details of what's on. At some point in the future, the museum hopes to be able to afford to display more items currently in storage, such as a model dog that rapped shop windows with its paws to draw in passers-by, and a reconstructed prewar bedroom from the Gellért Hotel.
