Hakasalmi Villa is an Italian Neoclassical construction built in the 1840s by a councillor and patron of the arts whose collection inspired the founding of the museum. It houses engaging, long-term temporary exhibitions, often strikingly designed – a recent show looked at the life of Roma (Gypsies) in Finland.
