Ferries
As lake travel is aimed more at holidaying families than the budget-conscious traveller, prices are high considering the distances, and progress is slow as the vessels chug along the great lake chains. If you have the time, money and inclination, though, it can be worth taking one of the shorter trips simply for the experience.
