Entry requirements

Citizens of the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and all European countries (except Albania, Belarus, Bosnia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine) do not require an entry visa for Austria. EU citizens need only a national identity card and can stay for as long as they want, but if they're planning on staying permanently they should register with the local police. Citizens of the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia require a passport, and can stay up to three months. Visa requirements do change, however, and it is always advisable to check the current situation before leaving home.
