Central and South Trinidad
San Fernando
Nestled against the base of the bizarrely shaped San Fernando Hill, the city of SAN FERNANDO enjoys the most striking location of any in Trinidad. Usually referred to as the industrial capital of T&T, it has an old-fashioned charm helped in large part by its winding lanes studded with charming gingerbread buildings. It's also the best place in the south to find accommodation, good restaurants and lively entertainment. Far quieter than Port of Spain, San Fernando is a friendly place, and getting to know the people here is easy enough provided you make an effort – and often the first move.
