Cambodia Guide
Introduction to Cambodia
Having left its troubled past largely behind, Cambodia is fast becoming one of Southeast Asia's hottest destinations. The stunning temples of Angkor are the obvious draw for most visitors, but the country has much else to offer: white-sand beaches, unspoilt forest, a balmy climate, and a relaxed atmosphere that's refreshingly low on hassle. Lured by all these, tourists have been flocking to the country in increasing numbers over the past decade; 2007 saw two million foreign visitors, the Cambodian government proudly proclaims. With tourism infrastructure improving fast, modern Cambodia promises soon to rival its better-known neighbours in both accessibility and attractions.
