The aerial cable way Skyway Trails offers three-hour jaunts above the trees, on which you glide from platform to platform over the valley, securely clipped to a stout cable. Helmets and harnesses are provided and the guides are capable and fun. No skills are needed, other than a degree of calmness and a head for heights, and children aged 6–10 can ride with a guide. You meet at Gecko Lodge, 3km along on the R536, where you are kitted up and given a short lesson before being transported to the hilltop where the trail begins.
