Panyembrahma Dancers
With painstaking practice, female Balinese dancers perfect a series of controlled, angular, yet enticing movements of the arms, wrists, fingers, neck and eyes. Admired and respected within the community, they perform in an array of dance-dramas that have evolved from sacred rituals. In their elaborate costumes, these artists await their call to begin the Panyembrahma dance, executed at the beginning of an occasion, to welcome attendees.
